Manufacturing Cabinet - The Pentagon and Manufacturing

The Manufacturing Cabinet – Withum, NJMEP, Morris County Chamber of Commerce and Somerset County Business Partnership sponsored their third industry networking event, The Pentagon and Manufacturing, on June 26, 2019 at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, New Jersey.

Given the critical labor shortage facing the industry, the Cabinet invited Shahram Dabiri, Technology Manager of the STEM Education Program Office at Picatinny Arsenal to convey the various programs that the Pentagon has developed to support STEM Careers. Shah delivered an insightful presentation on how the U.S. Department of Defense is recruiting and training the best and brightest for technical skills that are critical to manufacturers.  The presentation was well-received by the industry professionals in attendance, especially due to the relevancy of the need for manufacturing jobs in our nation’s economic growth. The guests also spent the evening connecting with one another on the current state of the industry and what needs to be done in the future to uphold its success.
