Withum brings a unique perspective to the government contractor industry through a comprehensive suite of services designed to help businesses remain compliant, efficient and profitable.

In today’s climate, it is apparent the government will continue to buy services from the private sector. With increased requirements and guidelines for growing audit, security and regulatory compliance, government contractors need to proactively improve internal controls, processes and procedures to stay competitive in the industry. Compliance is the key to a successful government contract.

Withum’s Government Contractor service professionals work with businesses in virtually all industries. From technology and construction to base operation staff, manufacturing, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, we pride ourselves on our core knowledge of the regulatory environment. Our clients range in size from publicly-traded corporations to closely-held businesses. We have significant expertise serving Native American Contractors, including Tribes, Native Hawaiian Organizations (NHO) and Alaskan Native Corporations (ANC). We provide a wide array of services designed to enable government contractors to maximize their revenues while maintaining compliance with all applicable government regulations.

  • Overhead Rate Audits
  • Pre-award Audit Services
  • Traditional Audit Services
  • Contractor Business System Reviews

Withum’s team offers the government contractor industry numerous services, allowing our firm to be your comprehensive provider for audit and consulting services. These services include:

The audit is performed in accordance with the appropriate regulations and often in accordance with Government Auditing Standards (Yellow Book) or possibly may include a Single Audit, previously known as the OMB Circular A-133 audit. A Single Audit is an organization-wide financial statement and federal awards’ audit of a non-federal entity that expends $750,000 or more in federal funds in one year.

We work with our clients to ensure that systems are in place to document all that is required to be documented.

Federal contracting agencies often will require an “Accounting System Certification” to be submitted within 60 to 90 days of receipt of an award. At times, Pre-award Surveys may also be required.

We provide the program and financial reporting training necessary to assist your company with reporting in an accurate, current and complete manner.

In lieu of or sometimes in addition to this, an indirect cost rate is a preferred method of allocating costs to a contract. We assist our clients with both cost allocation plans and indirect cost rates.

Should the case or dispute move to the level of an administrative law judge, we have the experience and specialized experts to guide our clients through the intricacies of the judicial system.

The effect of not meeting the required match can be costly and thus deserves the appropriate attention.
