Benjamin Franklin’s Way to Wealth Webinar

Benjamin Franklin’s Way to Wealth will be the topic of this week’s webinar for the East Brunswick Public Library. I will also suggest things you could adopt to maintain, better, and/or grow your wealth and health.

Benjamin Franklin was probably the best-known American during his lifetime and received worldwide honors. He also helped create the United States of America. He came to Philadelphia as a 17-year-old runaway with virtually nothing and had become one of the richest people in the country when he died at age 84. His advice, which he started dispensing as a teenager, has stood the test of time.

This program will discuss his 1758 essay The Way to Wealth and other writings that provide glimpses into wealth, health, and the calming methods he used to create his own financial security and peace of mind. Included will be his encounter with a 22-year-old George Washington (when Franklin was 48) at the battlefield at the start of the French and Indian War in 1754, his travels to every North American colony, his establishment of the Boston post road, and many others to facilitate mail delivery, his termination as postmaster of the Colonies after a humiliating chastisement, how he arranged for Lafayette, Steuben, Pulaski, Kosciusko, Houdon, and Joseph Priestly to come to America, and for John Paul Jones to get his first ship.

The program is part of the East Brunswick Public Library’s Take a Business Break Series. It is free, but you will need to register. It is on Thursday, June 15, at Noon.

For those that do not know me, I am a CPA and Emeritus partner at Withum. I am credentialed as a personal financial specialist by the AICPA and am one of Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People, the author of 30 books, an adjunct MBA professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court and have testified twice at the House Ways and Means Committee on tax policy, equity, and reform. I have also been presenting financial planning programs to the public for over 40 years. Further, I have posted over 20 blogs about the remarkable Benjamin Franklin and seem to have a fascination with this extraordinary person.

I hope to “see” you there.
