John Sheehy, a Principal at Withum, has over 25 years of experience in forensic investigations and serves as the Lead of the Investigative and Corporate Intelligence Services Team. He focuses on helping clients make informed decisions regarding background investigations, due diligence, internal investigations, white-collar criminal litigation, and complex commercial litigation.

Prior to joining Withum, John was a Special Agent and Supervisor at the Federal Bureau of Investigation for more than 25 years. In this role, he conducted and managed domestic and international investigations involving complex financial crimes, wire fraud, money laundering, healthcare fraud, public corruption, securities fraud, identity theft, organized crime, criminal enterprises, and violent crime. John also served as an Associate Division Counsel for the FBI’s New York field office, reviewing requests for the use of the FBI’s most sensitive techniques and providing legal, compliance, and strategic advice regarding all matters within the FBI’s purview. Additionally, John was a certified FBI Crisis Negotiator.

Prior to his tenure at the FBI, John was an attorney who practiced civil litigation at large nationally recognized law firms in New York and New Jersey
