On Sunday, Feb 2, I will be presenting my 40th annual financial program titled “What I learned in the past 40 years…that you should also know.”

This run started with the typical year-end tax planning programs and morphed into financial planning, personal investment management and my take on the overall economy. When I look back, two things come to mind: 1) The wide range of topics covered, and 2) How much I learned during this period. And, I am still learning. Nothing stays the same and we need to grow and growth comes from learning new things. I am fortunate to have had many clients that I have been privileged to advise since this not only kept me on my toes but forced me to evaluate their situation and apply the best courses for them to follow, with each having a unique aspect. I am proud to say that my direct counsel has helped over 1,000 clients and many colleagues, and thousands of others through my speaking and writing, to become more secure with their future plans.

Things changed over 40 years including investment styles, available products, and attitudes toward risk. Also, immense wealth has been created from products, devices and communication mean that we’re not even vague dreams or fantasies 40 years ago. Things changed and so did life expectancies, spending needs, financial education and even the way we watch movies.

I learned a lot and will share some of the most cogent things in the program. To support some of what I will be saying, I put together a 180-page handbook that will be distributed to all attendees. Obviously, I cannot cover everything thoroughly in an hour program, but I will speak fast, tell some interesting stories that are on point and give it to you straight and unadulterated. I know that everyone attending will learn something – some more than others, but everyone will learn something. I have worked hard putting this presentation together and hope you can join me. I also know that some attendees from my first program will be there so that will be extra for my personal trip down memory lane.

The program is open to the public and all are welcome. There is no charge and no RSVP, just show up. My presentation will be at 10:15 and if you get there at 10:00 you will even get a bagel and hot drink, also free. The program is at Congregation Beth Ohr, 70 Route 516, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. Email me if you need additional information.
