Congratulations to Sandra…and WS+B!

Bill Hagaman, our managing partner, follows a tradition started by Ivan Brown in congratulating staff and partners marking milestone anniversaries. Last week, he congratulated Sandra Ruoff on her 25th anniversary with WS+B. I enjoy working with Sandra and while I knew most of what Bill wrote, reading it highlighted the foresight, compassion and trend setting attitude of our firm’s founders, which continues to this day, and want to share Bill’s email with you.

“Good morning everyone,

I am pleased to share that we are celebrating a 25-year milestone at our firm today… congratulations to Sandra Ruoff, WS+B per diem professional!

Sandra supports the New Brunswick office, specializing in tax and small business accounts. She came to our firm right after graduating from Gettysburg College in 1989, working as a staff accountant. In April 1995, she became a mother to a beautiful baby girl, the first of her four children. Having enjoyed her professional life with clients and colleagues, Sandra returned to work after maternity leave, with her mother at home to help with childcare. But by the end of the summer when it was time for her mother to go back to her job as a teacher, Sandra decided to spend more time at home with her daughter and changed her work schedule to a per diem status. She has continued to work for the firm in a per diem arrangement ever since, with her hours fluctuating over the years depending on her home schedule, office needs, client projects, deadlines and the time of year, which has worked out well for everyone.

Sandra is a perfect example of how we are happy to help our valued professionals achieve the work-life balance they need through our flex-time policy.

Please join me in congratulating Sandra on reaching a 25-year milestone at WS+B!

Thanks and enjoy the rest of the week,

Bill”
