He has more than 38 years of expertise in the cost segregation and appraisal related industries and specialized in providing cost segregation services for tax planning purposes to a variety of clients across the United States.

His expertise in performing cost segregation studies is in many industries and property types, including office, banking and medical buildings, apartments, hotels and resorts, restaurants and grocery stores, retail and shopping centers, distribution and manufacturing facilities, wineries, and automobile dealerships. Martin has previously consulted with numerous Fortune 500 companies.

As Practice Leader, Matt’s responsibilities include representing Withum in the marketplace, curating marketplace strategies and overseeing the continuous growth of the multidisciplinary team of more than 300 dedicated professionals across the country.

Matt’s client base includes Martin is a published author of several articles on cost segregation and has been quoted in the Practice Accountant Magazine and has spoken at several conferences on cost segregation. Throughout his career, he has worked for and with the “Big 4” and other national accounting firms along with national consulting firms while providing cost segregation and appraisal related services.

Martin has completed Building Construction Estimating and Blueprint Reading at UCLA, Construction Management Courses at Milwaukee School of Engineering, Construction Estimating Courses at Michigan State and Dale Carnegie Business Course, and he is a member of the American Association of Cost Engineers. industrial and consumer product businesses and professional service businesses, with a mix of multinational, private equity-backed and closely held (family-operated) companies. This eclectic experience affords Matt the ability to be a valued advisor to his clients, with a focus on looking beyond the compliance to help businesses achieve their goals.

Prior to his current role, Matt served as the Market Leader of the COVID-19 Financial Assistance Services team, where his team of experts helped businesses avail themselves of the various COVID relief packages and comply with their stringent regulations.
