Troy Atkinson is a Partner with over 30 years of experience in servicing Multiemployer Benefit Plans. Troy focuses exclusively on auditing financial statements of multiemployer benefit plans and managing payroll compliance specialty services.

He assists clients by developing personalized solutions that cover developing internal control suggestions for improvements and best practices. Troy tailors the implementation of organizational recommendations to the labor and management governance of a multiemployer benefit plan. He sees successful implementation by coordinating and communicating with his clients throughout the entire process, from the onset to closure.

Troy has experience as an independent consultant investigating fraudulent transactions unique to multiemployer benefit plans, as well as financial transactions that violate ERISA. He is a frequent consultant to clients on Department of Labor hot-button issues, like including expense allocation of common expenses between related funds, allowable trustee travel expenses, and proper recording of related party transactions.

As an active member of his community, Troy served on the Menlo Park School District, Financial and Audit Committee, and the Olympic Club. He is a sought-after speaker and thought leader, speaking at conferences for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the California CPA Employee Benefit Plan Conference, and the American Institute of CPAs. 

Every year, Troy embarks on a journey that takes him backpacking through the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range to reset his soul. He loves surrounding himself in nature, from standup paddleboarding in Hawaii, to rekindling his love for skiing, to citrus farming. Additionally, Troy enjoys watching his children’s college sports games, watching Formula 1, and building Legos or models.
