Joe Holman is the ESG Advisory and Assurance practice leader at Withum and oversees the evaluation and adoption of clients’ ESG strategies and controls. His efforts include helping clients navigate the myriad of demands made by major customers, the SEC, and European regulations. As a CPA, he helps firms take advantage of the Inflation Reduction Act tax credits and understand newly adopted ESG reporting standards, such as the ISSB sustainability standards under international GAAP.
Mr. Holman is a seasoned ESG specialist who has advised institutional investors, asset managers, and public/private companies on the value of sustainability & corporate social responsibility. His experience includes assisting clients in the automation of ESG controls and reporting, M&A ESG due diligence, SEC compliance, crafting ESG policies and measuring and preparing greenhouse gas emissions reports.
Before joining Withum, Mr. Holman founded an ESG Advisory firm, a PRI signatory, and worked with credit, real estate, private equity, and hedge funds. Prior experiences also include establishing a boutique fund administrator, Columbus Avenue Consulting. Before Columbus, he began his career as an audit partner at Rothstein, Kass & Company PC (merged with KPMG in 2014).
