Investing in an opportunity zone fund is a way to defer and reduce taxable gains on the sale of certain assets including personal businesses, real estate and stocks. Certain taxpayers can still defer gains for transactions that occurred in 2018 provided:
(i) they acquire an interest in an opportunity zone fund; and
(ii) they do so by June 28, 2019.
