Magdalena Czerniawski is a partner on the Firm’s Healthcare Services Team with over 20 years of public accounting experience, providing tax compliance, planning and advisory services. 

She specializes in tax matters for healthcare, notforprofit and taxexempt organizations, with expertise spanning unrelated business taxable income, executive compensation and benefit plansretirement and incentive plansforeign tax filings, lobbying activity compliance and complex federal and state filing requirements.  

She works closely with clients ranging from healthcare systems and hospitals to charitable organizations, educational institutions, social welfare organizations, affordable housing entities and private foundations on complex tax and compliance matters.  She helps her clients navigate regulatory requirements, manage risk and support mission-driven growth. She counsels private foundations on selfdealing rules, excise taxes, governance compliance and prepares equivalency determinations to support foreign grantmaking.  She also works with clients to gain their tax exempt status and represents them on other matters before the IRS and state taxing authorities.  

Magdalena is a licensed certified public accountant (CPA) in New York and New Jersey and fluent in Polish.

Magdalena is a recognized thought leader in the tax-exempt space, contributing articles to NYSSCPA’s The Trusted Professional and NJ Society Magazine and serves as a recurring presenter at the NYSSCPA Tax Exempt Conference.  

She is deeply committed to community leadership, serving on several boards, including the Foundation for Accounting Education of NYSSCPA and is the Audit Committee Chair of Program for Parents.  She is also very involved in the Polish Lacrosse Foundation and St. Casmir Polish School. 

She is a working mom of three, with family and sports at the center of her life. With all three children actively involved in athletics, she spends much of her time supporting youth sports, with a personal love for lacrosse and basketball. Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of outdoor activities.
