Withum’s Big 5 Game Watch Unites Philadelphia Business Community for Charity
Withum’s Philadelphia office hosted its annual Big 5 Game Watch at the Xfinity Mobile Arena, bringing together over 100 members of Philadelphia’s M&A community for an evening of networking, basketball and charitable giving. The event, sponsored by ADP and Birch Benefits, featured the Philadelphia Big 5 tripleheader basketball games played by the University of Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph’s University, Temple University, Villanova University, LaSalle University and Drexel University.
Since its inception in 2019, the Withum Big 5 Game Watch has evolved from intimate networking gatherings in Center City Philadelphia to a premier community event hosted in a suite setting. This year, the event featured a Withum Instagram takeover, hosted by Matthew Barrett, Withum Business Development Executive.
The takeover provided behind-the-scenes content and real-time updates from the suite, along with appearances from special guests: Fran Dunphy, legendary Big 5 basketball coach; Baker Dunleavy, General Manager of Villanova Basketball; Randy Foye, President of Friends of Nova NIL Program; Chuck Everson, member of Villanova’s 1985 National Championship Team; Kevin Flanagan, Chief Financial Officer of the Big East Conference; and Big 5 school cheerleaders, dancers and mascots.
Guests supported local charities through four distinct fundraising games, with all proceeds benefiting the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House Charities and the American Cancer Society’s affiliate, Coaches vs. Cancer. Historically, the event has raised over $18,000 in support of its partner charities.
