Microsoft Latest News: A Year in Review


2020 was quite an interesting year, but that hasn’t stopped the ball rolling at Microsoft. There has been some exciting Microsoft news on new products and initiatives, and we want to give you a little taste of all the excitement from the past year.

Microsoft Conferences:

2020 brought a new way of attending Microsoft Conferences, like Build and Ignite, virtually. Powered by Stream and Microsoft Teams, Microsoft was able to keep participants engaged. The virtual conferences will continue into 2021 as well.

Microsoft 365:

  • Microsoft Teams:
    • Integration with Power Platform: New Power Automate triggers and actions built specifically for Teams will allow flow creators to improve customization for user experience in Teams.
    • Customizable Teams Templates: It is the copy-paste version of Teams, as Microsoft announces Team templates.
    • Virtual Stage: Microsoft Teams can help you run your conferences and live events with ease.
    • Shifts: the schedule management tool designed for developers to add in Graph API to integrate existing or custom workforce into Teams.

  • Microsoft ListsMicrosoft is creating a powerful application that can help share and track information, including a new Lists mobile app.
  • Project Cortex – Although this was announced in 2019, it is now widely available. It is the first new service since Teams and applies Microsoft Graph to create the knowledge network and enables managed content with AI-powered security, compliance and workflow.
