J. Del has over 38 years of experience as a tax and accounting professional. He works exclusively with closely held family-owned businesses and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and their families. As a trusted business advisor and licensed CPA, he takes time to engage in meaningful discussions with clients, listening to their goals and helping them achieve those results.

J. Del’s extensive advisory experience cuts across the “life cycle” of clients and their businesses, ranging from early-stage formation and entity structuring to raising debt and equity capital for growth and ultimately to transitioning businesses to the next generation or facilitating sales to third parties. His expertise includes tax structuring and planning, multi-generational succession and estate planning, exit strategy assessment and sell-side transactional advisory.

After a sale, J. Del assists with family office formation, operational structuring, hiring key employees, developing operating budgets and creating tax-efficient investment strategies. This comprehensive approach has given him exposure to diverse industries including real estate, hospitality, wholesale and distribution, energy and crypto mining and trading.

J. Del’s commitment to the accounting profession has led to many awards over the years, such as the “Top 10 Public Accounting Professionals for Texas” from the National Academy of Public Accounting Professionals. He is a Founding Co-Organizer of the Gulf Coast Regional Family Forum (GCRFF), where he has moderated past events. He is also an accomplished speaker on best tax practices and succession planning.

J. Del is an active alum, having guest lectured at the University of Oklahoma on multiple occasions. He is also an Advisory Board Member for the University’s Steed School of Accounting and part of the Arthur B. Adams Society. As a supporter of entrepreneurs, J. Del is an OWL Prize Investor Group Member of the Rice Business Plan Competition and an Advisory Board Member for the Texas A&M Center McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship.

Within his local community, J.Del is the Vice President of Support for the Houston Christian High School Mustang Parent Council and a past Membership Chair for its Booster Club. He is involved with Covenant House Texas, where he was an Executive Sleepout Participant and Fundraiser. J. Del is also a past Rotary Member, having served on its Lombardi Awards Executive Committee.

When not in the office, J. Del can be found cheering on the Sooners (Boomer!), traveling with his wife, hitting the golf course and laughing out loud more often than you’d think. J. Del can speak Eastern Oklahoma Redneck and a little bit of East Texas “Bubba” dialect!
