Based in Withum’s Philadelphia office, Charlie has been providing a broad range of accounting, audit, tax and advisory services to both public and privately-held middle-market business enterprises, including the employee benefit plans of these organizations for more than 25 years. He has extensive experience in accounting, auditing, tax and business advisory services for middle-market businesses and their stockholders. Charlie concentrates on providing these services to manufacturers and distributors as well as registered investment advisors and securities broker-dealers. He has a thorough knowledge of accounting, auditing, tax and operational matters that are unique to these types of businesses. He also assists clients in the design and implementation of budgeting, forecasting and performance measurement systems.
Because of Charlie’s work with public companies and investment management industry clients, he maintains a thorough knowledge of PCAOB requirements and regularly attends update seminars sponsored by the SEC. Because of his work with employee benefit plans, he also regularly attends updates and seminars regarding EBSA, ERISA and DOL. In addition, Charlie has specialized expertise utilizing computer-assisted audit techniques that increase audit efficiency and reduce the time and effort required by client personnel. He is proficient with interactive data extraction and analysis software and the application of related audit procedures.
A graduate of the University of Dayton with a bachelor of science degree in accounting, Charlie has spoken at numerous seminars dealing with the most recent accounting and auditing issues. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and was a founding member of the Private Company Financial Reporting Committee, a joint committee sponsored by the AICPA and Financial Accounting Standards Board. He is also a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants where he serves on the Committee on Accounting and Auditing Procedures.
