Sunday is Independence Day, a day we should all honor and celebrate. The founding fathers actually said it should be commemorated with spectacular displays of fireworks and pomp and circumstance. And that is how it has been celebrated ever since.
This day commemorates an important milestone in the creation of the United States and it is fitting to honor America by flying a flag.
If you do not already do this, it can be done quite simply. You can purchase a flag that is about 36 inches high by 54 inches long at many stores and supermarkets. Then screw two cup hooks on the paneling above your garage door and place the eyelets of the flag there. Shown is a photo of how it looks on my garage. It is quite easy to do and remove. You can then fly the flag on Independence Day and other patriotic holidays including Memorial Day, Flag Day and Veterans’ Day and also national holidays or other days you deem important to display the flag.
