Melissa is a dedicated technology specialist with client concentrations in Ad-tech, Digital Media Services and B2B and B2C SaaS business models. She has extensive professional accounting experience dealing with complex equity transactions, revenue recognition issues, stock-based compensation, and beneficial conversion features, warrant analysis, software capitalization and derivative instruments. Melissa is the author of numerous articles include: A Tech Start-up Checklist, How to Account for Beneficial Conversion Features, and NY State Tax Trap vs Tax Savings for Startups. She is also a frequent presenter at workshops and seminars on topics including: Servicing Start-ups and Emerging Growth Companies and the new revenue recognition standard.
Melissa is an active member of the firm's Technology and Startup and Emerging Growth Technology Niche and a leader of the Women in Tech group. She is a licensed certified public accountant in the State of New Jersey. She has her bachelor's degree in accounting and international business from Ramapo College. She is a Xero Certified Advisor and the 2016 honoree for the Withum Community Service Award and 2014 honoree for the Withum Innovative Strength Award. Melissa is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), a member of the AICPA Auditing and Attestation (AUD) subcommittee and a member of the New Jersey Society for Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA).
