Withum is proud to share that Matt Walsh has been named a 2026 NJBIZ Forty Under 40 honoree, recognizing him as one of New Jersey’s leaders and changemakers making an impact across the state’s accounting and industrial and consumer products communities.
Matt, partner and Practice Leader of Withum’s Industrial and Consumer Products Services (ICP) Team, helps drive the strategic direction, national growth and continued development of the multidisciplinary practice. He works with clients across the ICP industry, including multinational organizations, private equity-backed companies and closely held businesses.
Matt played a key role in aligning the strategies of two legacy Withum practices —manufacturing, distribution and transportation with consumer products — under a unified vision for growth to form the Industrial and Consumer Products Team. His business acumen and innovative mindset enabled him to become the youngest practice leader in the Firm’s history. In his role, he also focuses on developing team members, fostering collaboration and promoting professional growth and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Matt contributes to the broader industry through speaking engagements and thought leadership, sharing insights that foster dialogue around the trends and challenges shaping the industrial and consumer products sector.
Matt’s leadership extends across Withum as a leader in executing Firm priorities with a client focus, championing initiatives focused on modernizing workflows, strengthening technology adoption and enhancing service delivery to meet evolving client needs.
Throughout his career, Matt has brought an innovative approach to helping businesses address challenges, adapt to change and pursue long-term growth. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he led Withum’s Financial Assistance Services Team to help businesses nationwide access critical relief funding and navigate evolving regulatory requirements.
His leadership in innovation has also earned external recognition as an INNOVATE 100 honoree in the Finance/Accounting category for helping advance technology modernization, operational efficiency and alignment between technology and client service.
Beyond his role at Withum, Matt is actively involved in the New Jersey community and the accounting profession. He serves on the Strategic Planning Committee at Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, N.J., helping support the school’s long-term planning and continued development.
He also remains actively involved with the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA). His involvement has included serving as President of the Mercer Chapter and supporting the Central Jersey Chapter and Student Programs & Scholarship Committee. Through the NJCPA, Matt speaks with local high school students, sharing his career experiences and introducing them to opportunities within the profession, reflecting his commitment to developing the next generation and strengthening New Jersey’s future talent pipeline.
NJBIZ’s Forty Under 40 program recognizes professionals under 40 who are helping build strong communities and shape New Jersey’s economic future.
