Ryan Caster has more than 20 years of public accounting experience, with a focus on hospitals and health systems, institutions of higher education, charter schools and other not-for-profit entities. He also has prior experience working with businesses in the manufacturing, retail and professional sports industries. 

Ryan, a certified public accountant (CPA), specializes in auditing, consulting and advisory engagements for higher education institutions. His service expertise includes: financial statement audits, performing reviews over various institute processes (i.e. business office, human resources function, etc.), leading fully-outsourced internal audit engagements, developing institute-wide risk assessments, serving as an outsourced Controller/Assistant Vice President of Finance, accounting and financial reporting assistance, grant auditing and data analytics. 

As part of his fully-outsourced internal audit services, Ryan has led internal audits and projects on topics such as: enterprise risk management, financial aid, export controls, registration and student records, student health center data security, human resources management, sponsored research, student union and bookstore operations, environmental health and safety – laboratory safety, uniform guidance, data analytics over procure to pay, time and expense and payroll, Clery Act Compliance, intellectual property management and institute advancement.  

Ryan is involved with staff training and has conducted accounting and auditing training for team members and external audiences.

Ryan is active in his community and serves on the Board of Directors for Peaceprints of WNY, where he was a past President and Treasurer. He also sits on the Board of Trustees for Villa Maria College. Prior to his work with these organizations, he was a past President of the WNY Chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and part of the Founding Board of Trustees and former Treasurer for REACH Academy Charter School.
