David Hansen has over 20 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in risk advisory services. He has experience with financial and technical assessments, compliance and risk engagements, and other audit and consulting projects. His primary focus includes third-party risk advisory and assurance, compliance with laws and regulations regarding internal controls over financial reporting, Payment Card Industry (PCI) consulting and compliance, and cybersecurity. David’s clients include many large, public companies facing complex technical, security, and compliance issues both domestically and abroad.  

David also has extensive experience with System and Organization Control (SOC) reporting. He has performed numerous SOC examinations, including SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3 reports, and consultation for first-time clients. He’s also provided direction to service providers looking to expand their assurance to cover other services, security and compliance risks and frameworks.  

A lifelong learner, David holds multiple accreditations and certifications, which include: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Payment Card Industry Qualified Security Assessor (PCI QSA), certified public accountant, and a Masters in Business Administration. 

David brings a wealth of knowledge to his clients, tapping into his previous experience as a member of a global IT audit team with a large, international manufacturing company. During his time there, he participated in several multinational internal audit engagements, including Sarbanes-Oxley reviews, and commonly served as a facilitator with members of the business community and the organization’s external auditors.

David is active in his community and has coached athletes under the Valor Triathlon Project for over 10 years. His passion for running as an “elite” amateur triathlete allows him to connect with other runners as a mentor and coach.

Work Hard/Play Hard

David shares his love of endurance racing with his wife, who races professionally. He is also a multi-time Ironman finisher and Ironman World Champion qualifier.
