Withum Week of Caring Goes Virtual in Its 10th Year with One Simple Wish

Every year during the holiday season, Withum team members leave their offices to go out into their communities and volunteer with local charities. Giving Back is a pillar of the
Withum Way—the code that defines the Firm’s unique culture. The Firm’s annual Withum Week of Caring (WWoC) is a company-wide initiative that encourages and supports team members in volunteerism and community outreach.

This year, amid the pandemic, the Firm partnered with One Simple Wish to facilitate a virtual charitable program. Team members gave back to their communities in a safe yet big way. One Simple Wish created an online portal for Withum where team members could donate to grant wishes for local children and young adults in foster care. The Firm also matched every team member’s donation.

Withum team members donated over $40,000, and when including the Firm’s match, a total of more than $80,000 granted wishes for those supported by One Simple Wish. The charity confirmed that Withum’s Giving Page was the largest, most successful corporate fundraiser they’d ever hosted.

“They made our 10th annual event extra special, allowing us to support a group that goes underserved in so many of our communities. Through the trials of the pandemic, our team members stepped up in their communities to help their neighbors in need. This year’s WWoC is an extension of that support and care to a greater community—one, as a Firm, we are proud to be part of.”

Using the hashtag #WithumWish, Withum team members took to social media to spread awareness about the virtual giveback program, inspiring others in their networks to give back to the charity. Team members shared the stories of children and young adults that moved them to grant wishes, reminding us that being a part of a community and Staying Connected is so important in a virtual world.

The worst thing you can do is to do nothing. Every person who chooses to do anything— to ease some suffering, to spread some joy, to put a little more love out into this world, is absolutely making a change.
