Get to Know Me

Michael George is a Partner and Practice Leader of Withum’s Healthcare Services Team with over 30 years of experience. 

He assists organizations with making transformative changes to their business, which includes advising business executives on solutions to optimize business processes and financial performance and manage risk. 

Michael has his CPA license in New York and New Jersey. Formerly an Audit partner at a Big Four Firm, Michael has deep technical and industry expertise, including having previously led Healthcare-centered practices. He served clients in healthcare and tax-exempt industries, including integrated healthcare delivery systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, physician practices, colleges and universities, foundations, associations, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. He also led assurance engagements for venture capital and private equity-backed companies, ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and complex accounting standards. He has a reputation for excellent client service, working closely with his clients to provide personalized solutions to optimize their business processes, mitigate risk and empower them to excel.

Michael is a frequent industry speaker and previously served on the New Jersey Board of Directors for the Health Care Financial Management Association. He remains an active member of the association in addition to his work with nonprofit organizations like Mary’s Meals, working toward the goal of feeding children at their place of education around the world. He serves on the Board of Directors, as Chairman of the Audit Committee and serves on the International Board of the organization.

When he isn’t in the office or volunteering on boards or at local shelters, Michael coaches local basketball and baseball teams.
