Story

Mark A. Buckberg, CPA, CFE, CFF is a principal at Withum with 20 years of experience. Mark specializes in auditing labor organizations and multiemployer benefit plans. He has expertise in all aspects of federal reporting and compliance for labor unions, employee benefit plans, auditing and consulting for defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, health and welfare funds, vacation funds, royalty funds and training funds. Mark is proficient in preparing Forms 990, 990-T, 5500 and LM-2. Prior to joining the Firm, Mark was a partner at Bond Beebe, which joined with Withum in August 2017.

Mark’s experience comes from supervising and performing audit fieldwork for Taft Hartley employee benefit funds and local, national and international labor unions. In addition, he has conducted audits for training funds, private foundations, political action funds and a variety of building corporations. Mark regularly assists labor organizations and benefit plans with fraud prevention, investigation and litigation support engagements.

Mark holds a Bachelor's in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's in Finance from Towson University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Forensic and Valuation Services Section of the AICPA, the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
