Mackenzie Balcer is a consultant on the Firm’s Risk Advisory and Assurance Services Team, bringing nearly five years of experience specializing in SOX compliance across both business process and IT control areas.
Her background includes internal audits, internal controls evaluation, enterprise risk assessment, operational and financial auditing, regulatory compliance and technology‑enabled risk solutions.
Mackenzie helps clients gain clarity and confidence in their risk landscape by assessing business processes, identifying control gaps and advancing SOX compliance maturity. While her core focus is business process controls, she partners closely with IT risk teams to build cohesive, well‑aligned control frameworks that enhance governance, improve operational efficiency and support evolving regulatory requirements.

Outside of work, Mackenzie is an avid traveler who enjoys everything from sunny beaches to snowy mountain getaways. A devoted animal lover, she spends much of her free time with her energetic lab/hound mix, Nova. She also has a long‑standing love of swimming, shaped by several years as a swim instructor, an activity she still enjoys whenever she gets the chance.
