Karen A. Kowgios
Get to Know Me
Karen is a partner in Withum’s New York office with over 30 years of experience. She specializes in providing accounting services to not-for profit organizations and has been involved in all financial aspects of charitable organizations and foundations.
She works closely with the management and the Boards of the organizations to be sure that they are in compliance with all required disclosures and regulations.
Karen has structured numerous projects between not-for profit and for profit ventures including many transactions with not-for profit theaters and commercial producers. She has also assisted boards and executives with guidance relative to intermediate sanctions and transitional compensation packages.
Karen is a frequent lecturer on accounting and tax issues relative to the not-for profit industry with the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Nonprofit Coordinating Committee of New York, and Alliance for resident Theatres/New York.
