Withum is proud to share that Rich Wright has been named to Buffalo Business First’s Power 250 list and Rochester Business Journal’s Power 100 list for 2026.

Rich Wright, Partner-in-Charge of the Buffalo, Rochester and Batavia offices, was recognized for his transformational leadership and impact in the greater Western New York region. With more than three decades of experience in public accounting and various leadership roles, Rich has impacted business operations and deepened relationships with a wide variety of clients and individuals.

Over the past year, Rich’s leadership was recognized for the successful union of Freed Maxick’s practice with Withum. As Freed Maxick was a long-standing cornerstone of the Western New York business community, ensuring continuity, stability and a strong regional presence was essential throughout the transition.

Rich and his team led the transition with a clear focus on people, clients and community, creating an integration that preserved local relationships while unlocking broader capabilities. At a time marked by private equity activity in the accounting profession, rapid advances in AI and evolving regulatory demands, his leadership ensured change was managed thoughtfully, with the Firm’s people, clients and Western New York’s business economy at the forefront.

Beyond his technical expertise, Rich brings a spirit of servant leadership, teamwork and a heartfelt pride in his community to everything he takes on. He has held numerous leadership and volunteer roles with many nonprofit organizations essential to the WNY region, while currently serving on the board of select private clients.

Rich has been previously recognized by Buffalo Business First as a Power Player—the complete list can be found here. This is his first honor on the Rochester Business Journal’s Power 100 list, which can be found here.
