Chris Ekimoff is a principal on the Forensic and Valuation Services Team with two decades of experience in forensic accounting and fraud investigation. Specializing in corporate compliance, internal investigations and asset tracing, he serves clients in various industries, including government, professional services, hospitality and financial services.
Chris helps businesses understand, develop and execute risk mitigation strategies related to fraud, waste, and abuse in their operations. Having supported clients through hundreds of fraud investigations, allegations of financial misconduct, regulatory inquiries and insurance claims, he counsels clients on all facets of the process to prioritize meaningful responses, manage expectations and set realistic goals for resolution. His area of expertise extends to performing forensic analysis of transaction monitoring, journal entries and trading activity to detect anomalies and potential misconduct.
As an engaged and trusted advisor, Chris qualifies as a testifying expert in investment fraud, Ponzi schemes, asset tracing, and embezzlement. Additionally, he provides expert consulting services in civil and criminal litigation, commercial disputes and other alternative resolution matters.
He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of New York, Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Chris has worked across the country, with significant focus in Washington, D.C., New York City and Buffalo.
