Claiming Partner of Record “CPOR” associates your Microsoft cloud subscription to a Microsoft partner, like Withum. Withum being the CPOR for your subscription enables our team to help you optimize your usage for desired business outcomes. CPOR provides information and insights to help optimize your cloud solutions and find additional opportunities to drive active usage and adoption.

What Do I Need to Do?

  1. Your partner (Withum) will send a document to sign to confirm your intent to associate with the partner (Withum).
  2. The CPOR document will be submitted to Microsoft electronically and within a few days, your subscription will be associated with your partner (Withum).

1. Does associating Withum to your Microsoft Cloud Services give Withum access to our corporate data or applications?

  • No, it does not provide Withum with access to your internal data or access to any of your online services/applications. The only data this provides is usage and consumption of the Cloud service.

2. What customer data will Withum be able to see as CPOR

  • Customer ID and Customer Name
  • Customer’s Consumption/Usage Data which can include:
    • Subscription ID
    • Subscription name
    • Key subscription attributes such as Start date and current End date
  • Aggregated metered consumption/Seat Usage data ($$ value/seat numbers)
  • Aggregated details of Azure Services and Seat Based Workloads that are being consumed/used

3. Does assigning Withum to your Microsoft Cloud Services impact your monthly subscription cost or contract?

  • No, this process does not affect your subscription costs at all.

4. Does assigning a Claiming Partner of Record to your Microsoft Cloud Services affect your support contract?

  • No, it also has no impact on the support or services you receive from Microsoft or other vendors.

5. What Microsoft on-line service products can it be used for?

  • All Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, Teams, Teams Meeting, Teams Calling, SharePoint, Active Directory Premium, Defender, Dynamics 365, etc…

6. Who can attach a CPOR to an end-customer subscription?

  • The request is made by the partner/Withum and requires customer approval prior to submission to Microsoft.

7. Can a customer attach multiple partners?

  • Yes, more than one partner can claim workloads with the same customer.
