Magdalena Czerniawski is a tax partner on the Firm’s Healthcare Services Team with over 20 years of experience in public accounting, specializing in tax matters for healthcare, not-for-profit and tax-exempt organizations.
Her expertise spans unrelated business taxable income, employee compensation and benefit plans, lobbying and compliance requirements, private foundation self-dealing and excise taxes, equivalency determinations, affordable housing structures and complex domestic and foreign tax filings.
She works closely with healthcare and hospital organizations, charitable and social welfare organizations, schools, professional associations, private foundations and other nonprofits to deliver comprehensive tax compliance, planning and advisory services. Magdalena helps organizations navigate evolving tax regulations, manage and minimize tax exposure and meet complex reporting obligations with confidence. She advises on executive compensation and retirement and incentive plans, supports private foundations in addressing regulatory challenges and foreign giving and represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities as an authorized representative.

Magdalena is a recognized thought leader in the tax-exempt space, contributing articles to NYSSCPA Trusted Advisory and NJ Society Magazine, and has served as a recurring presenter at the NYSSCPA Tax Exempt Conference. She is also deeply committed to community leadership, serving on several boards, including the Polish Lacrosse Foundation and as a NYSSCPA Foundation for Accounting Education (FAE) Trustee.
She is a working mom of three, with family and sports at the center of her life. With all three children actively involved in athletics, she spends much of her time supporting youth sports, with a personal love for lacrosse and basketball. Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking advantage of outdoor activities.
