Creating a Legacy of Memories and Values

People change but their memories don’t. However, memories can get hazy or fuzzy, or sweeter and fonder or could vanish altogether. Perspective also adds to the enjoyment of memories and past successes, so does preservation. Our memories are not conserved like those on Keats’ Grecian Urn but they can be passed on in a memo, letter, booklet or video orchestrated by you. This Sunday, October 10, an expert on helping people preserve their memories will be speaking at a free Zoom program I organized and am inviting you to attend.

The presenter is Ann Smith, LCSW, M.Ed., an expert at helping people capture their memories and preserve them for younger generations. Ann is the president of Life Stories Remembered LLC and has over 40 years of experience assisting people to create meaningful personal legacies for their families. She is a frequent speaker and a recognized authority in this specialized area.

Ann will discuss the unusual way she created her business, her fascinating interview experiences, and the priceless benefits that come from the process of collecting memories in the form of personalized interviews. Leaving such legacies are a priceless gift and can include some of the following:

  • Tracing one’s journey from childhood to adulthood.
  • Relating school and employment experiences.
  • Describing family relationships.
  • Sharing the significance of meaningful life cycle events, including marriages and births.
  • Transmitting family values.
  • Sharing the origins of family traditions.
  • Providing historical accounts of life in a different social, cultural and political environment.
  • Recounting the development of family businesses.
  • Leaving a legacy or values’ message for future generations.

This one-hour program will speed by you and provide you with priceless information on how to proceed in capture one’s life story. You can visit Ann Smith’s website at https://www.lifestoriesremembered.net/.
