Withum enables our staff to pursue their personal passions and support causes that are meaningful to them within the communities they serve. Our staff members have spent countless hours volunteering and raising money for the charities they hold dear to their hearts.
Withum Week of Caring
Withum initiated WITHUM WEEK OF CARING to encourage our Withum family to give back a small portion of their time to their communities, in lieu of working in the office. Our Withum Community Cares Team works to connect our more than 900 staff members with a variety of not-for-profit organizations, helping support their mission through volunteerism, sharing in the spirit of giving.
Withum Hardship Relief Fund
In the Withum Way spirit of giving back and supporting members of the Withum family, Withum has established the WithumSmith+Brown Staff Hardship Relief Fund. The purpose of the fund is to financially assist our staff and their families who are experiencing a temporary hardship due to a significant life event, such as losing a home in a natural disaster or incurring financial burdens due to the illness of a family member. Receipt of the funds can be a major step for the staff member in his or her return to financial stability.
The fund will be supported by donations with a dollar-for-dollar company match, up to $50,000 per year. Staff members, clients and friends of the Firm can make a one-time tax-deductible donation to the fund, with checks made payable to “WithumSmith+Brown Staff Hardship Relief Fund, Inc.” Additionally, staff may opt to have a regularly scheduled donation made via payroll deduction, also tax-deductible.
The destruction in Southeast Texas has been nothing short of heartbreaking. In 2012, Superstorm Sandy struck the eastern seaboard, dramatically impacting countless members of our team as well as their families. As we know how difficult it is to rebuild and recover from the devastation caused by a natural disaster such as this, Withum will be donating $10,000 to the United Way Relief Fund in support of those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Our hearts are with everyone in Texas.
Withum 300 is Withum’s health and fitness program, where participants are challenged to run 300 miles or more over the course of the year. For the past two years, the Firm has donated 50 cents per every mile completed by our #withum300 group to Withum’s Staff Hardship Relief Fund. In 2016, the group helped raise over $27,000 by participating.
