Following are the components of the 30 stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the percentage of the index that they comprise.  This is as of April 19, 2019.  This is the third and final chart (for now) about the market indexes.  I find this very interesting and are sharing it with the hope you will too!



The Dow Jones Industrial Average is a major index and is usually the first index mentioned on the news when they report about how the stock market did that day.  The other two are the S&P 500 and Nasdaq indexes.

As important as the index is, it is only composed of 30 stocks.  Each stock has been chosen to represent its industry and is considered a “blue chip” stock.  That means it is a relatively strong stable company.  Look over the listing and see how many companies you recognize.
