WithumSmith+Brown Presents at Women’s Leadership Summit 2009


WithumSmith+Brown, PC, is pleased to announce that it was one of the co-sponsors for this year’s Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce (MCRCC) Women’s Leadership Summit.  The event was held on March 26, 2009 at Pines Manor, Edison, NJ from 8:30am-2:00pm.

 

Taryn Bostjancic, CPA, member of the MCRCC’s Women in Business event planning committee, says, “This is a terrific opportunity for the dynamic working women in New Jersey to come together for networking opportunities and professional development.”  Taryn is also a Partner in the New Brunswick office of WithumSmith+Brown, PC.

                    

The event opened with a Breakfast Panel discussion on "Continuing to Lead in a Challenging Time," with panel members to include Kimberlee Phelan, CPA, MBA, Partner of WithumSmith+Brown, Jeannine LaRue of Rutgers University and Anne Evans Estabrook, owner of Elberon Development Company. 

 

Following the panel were various roundtable discussions with topics covering Marketing Your Business; Legal Topics in the Workplace; Keeping Existing Clients and Opportunities for Women-Owned Businesses, to name a few.  Additionally, the roundtable topic “Smart Money Moves for Women” was facilitated by Mary Ellen Meara, CPA, Senior Tax Associate with WS+B.

 

Dean Harriet Davidson, Interim Dean of Douglass Residential College and the Douglass Campus, Rutgers University, was the keynote speaker during the luncheon.

 

MCRCC’s Women in Business Committee also collected kindly used women’s and men’s clothing to donate to Hire Attire, a not-for-profit organization assisting those entering the workforce after completing a NJ training program.
