WithumSmith+Brown (WS+B), Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, is pleased to announce the addition of Marc Silverman, CPA, as a partner based in the firm’s Morristown office. Silverman is a licensed certified public accountant in New Jersey with 22 years dedicated to the profession, most of which were with a 'Big 4' firm. He has extensive experience serving mid-market private companies in the industries of business services, manufacturing and life sciences, as well as expertise working with public companies, having been an audit partner for several Fortune 1000 multi-national SEC public registrants.
Silverman comes to WS+B from his boutique firm, MH Silverman and Associates, which specialized in providing assurance services to high net worth individuals. Formed in 2010, his clientele included athletes and entertainers, offering them specialized services such as investment and cash flow verification, contract compliance reviews and royalty audits. He will continue serving these clients under the WS+B brand.
"I am thrilled about my union with WithumSmith+Brown," says Silverman. "I now have access to more resources and staff expertise, allowing me to better serve my clients."
Silverman is also the founder and president of Be the Best Foundation, a not-for-profit organization which provides scholarship awards to high school scholar athletes in Old Bridge, NJ, with money raised through various annual fundraising efforts. "Working with other Old Bridge High School alumni, it's our way of giving back to our home town, and we enjoy that," he says.
On a Friday morning in early December, some 150 accountants and staff boarded a Manhattan-bound R train. It's doubtful any of their fellow commuters guessed they were all from the CPA firm of WithumSmith+Brown. That is, until the dancing started.
