Thomas A. Basilo, CPA, WithumSmith+Brown (WS+B) Partner, has earned the “Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award” for the 2011-2012 academic year from the Stillman School of Business Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Seton Hall University. Basilo will be honored at the Stillman School’s Graduate Hooding and Awards Ceremony on May 18th at Seton Hall University, South Orange, NJ.
The award is given to those adjunct faculty members who have consistently earned outstanding student evaluations for at least five semesters in a row. Also being recognized is Brian Fitzpatrick, MBA, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Management.
Basilo is an alum of Seton Hall University, having graduated with a BA degree in Accounting. He currently teaches an introductory graduate school course in entrepreneurial studies, a program he helped create. In 2011, he was a Special Recognition Honoree at the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame Induction Dinner, hosted by the Stillman School of Business. In 2008, Stillman School of Business honored him with the “Many Are One Service Award” in recognition of his contributions to the entrepreneurial community. In 2006, Seton Hall University’s (SHU) chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma (accounting Honor Fraternity) named Tom as their 25th anniversary honoree. In 1991, SHU’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi honored Tom with its Outstanding Alumnus Award.
Basilo is the Partner-in-Charge of WS+B’s Morristown office, and is also the Chairman + CEO of WithumSmith+Brown Global Assurance, LLC (WS+B GA), a division of WithumSmith+Brown, PC, headquartered in New Brunswick, New Jersey, providing expert counsel and project support for Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal audit and risk assurance related services to both public and private companies.
