James C. Bourke, WS+B Partner, receives Kean University Distinguished Alumni Award


James C. Bourke, CPA.CITP, WS+B partner, has been selected to receive the Kean University Distinguished Alumni award for 2010.  Each year Kean University selects a group of alumni whose achievements in professional and civic life have brought honor to both themselves and their alma mater. This elite group will be honored at a special reception on Saturday, April 24 at 6 p.m. in Kean Hall, located on the main campus. The Distinguished Alumni Awards are hosted and presented by the Kean University Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Relations.

 

Based in the  Red Bank, NJ, office, Jim serves as a member of the firm’s Management Committee, and is also the Director of Firm Technology. In that capacity, he has the responsibility for overseeing all technology issues and operations for the firm’s thirteen offices and 365 employees.

In 2006-2007, Jim served as President of the 14,500 member New Jersey Society of CPAs (NJSCPA), the youngest person ever to hold that position. He currently chairs the American Institute of CPA’s (AICPA) Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) Credential Committee. Bourke is a frequent presenter and author to many professional and business organizations on issues of technology.

 

Other Kean alumni to be honored include the Honorable J. Christian Bollwage of Elizabeth, NJ, Edward Elgart of Red Bank, NJ, Rachael Paulson of Sparta, NJ,  Ron Stone of Nutley, NJ, and Kathleen Wilkinson, Esq. of Haverford, PA.
