WS+B garners Philadelphia Business Journal Corporate Philanthropy Award

WithumSmith+Brown, PC, was honored at today’s Philadelphia Business Journal 2010 Corporate Philanthropy Awards program, receiving the Top Volunteer Donor award in the medium size business category.  The award recognizes the firm for the number of volunteer hours its staff has dedicated to the not-for-profit community in the Greater Philadelphia area.  Richard Cohen, partner-in-charge of WS+B’s Cherry Hill office, was on hand to receive the award on behalf of the firm.

The awards program was the opening segment of the publication’s annual Corporate Philanthropy Summit, and recognized the top Philadelphia-area businesses which made substantial donations to community organizations through cash contributions, in-kind contributions and volunteer hours.  The 72 corporate donors who were recognized collectively represent $47 million and 350,000 volunteer hours in charitable giving in 2008.

“Giving back to our communities is an important part of our firm’s culture, part of our core values,” says WS+B’s managing partner, Bill Hagaman.  “We are very pleased to be included among this esteemed group of corporate philanthropists.  It is a testament to the generosity of everyone at WS+B, and their willingness to serve for the greater good.”

The awards program was held at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel.  The full list of winners are profiled in the special print supplement in the April 30 issue of Philadelphia Business Journal.
