Jeffrey G. Blumengold joins WithumSmith+Brown to Expand Healthcare Consulting Practice

WithumSmith+Brown is pleased to announce that Jeffrey G. Blumengold, FHFMA, CPA, has joined the firm as a Partner based in the Red Bank office.  Mr. Blumengold will assist in leading WS+B’s Healthcare Consulting Services.

Jeff has over 30 years of accounting and consulting experience in the healthcare industry. He is a CPA in New Jersey and New York and a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA).  Jeff specializes in healthcare financial, regulatory, reimbursement and operational activities. His experience includes managing a diverse client base consisting of health systems, hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare agencies, assisted living facilities, continuing care retirement communities, physician group practices and managed care organizations. 

Prior to joining WS+B, Mr. Blumengold was a partner in the Forensic & Dispute Services (F&DS) practice of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services, where he led the Health Care F&DS Group in the Northeast. Before joining Deloitte, he was the founder and leader of a Health Care Services Audit and Consulting practice for another regional accounting firm.

Jeff earned his MBA in Public Accounting from the Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York, NYC, where he also received his BBA degree in the Teaching of Accounting and Business Practice.  He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Metro-New York Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).  He has been the recipient of the Muncie, Reeves and Follmer Founders awards from HFMA. In addition, Jeff previously served on the National HFMA Principles & Practices Board and earlier in his career, was an Adjunct Professor for both the City University of New York and the New York Institute of Technology, where he taught undergraduate accounting in the evenings.

Jeff has frequently presented to numerous local, regional and national healthcare organizations throughout his career, and was recently featured on a nationally distributed healthcare industry focused DVD covering the topic of healthcare compliance and fraud. 

At WS+B, Jeff will help to lead and coordinate the Healthcare Services Group offerings relating to the tri-state healthcare marketplace. In addition, he will be involved in consulting, regulatory compliance and litigation related engagements, providing services to health care providers, insurance companies and law firms.  Jeff can be reached at 732-842-3113 or jblumengold@withum.com.
