In an effort to better serve its Philadelphia clientele, the firm combined its former Cherry Hill, NJ office and its Center City Philadelphia satellite office, relocating its staff to this new location.
At an awards ceremony held at the East Brunswick Hilton last night, NJBIZ announced the rankings of its annual "Best Places to Work in New Jersey" list, with over 450 people in attendance, representing 70 New Jersey-based companies. For the seventh consecutive year, WithumSmith+Brown was a part of this prestigious list. In 2010, the Firm ranked #16 in the Large Company category; this year, WS+B moved up to #8. And of the 11 accounting firms appearing on the list between both categories, WS+B ranked third overall.
Four lucky female accountants at WithumSmith+Brown, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants, received a tax season break they never expected. Celebrity stylists from the Rachael Ray Show, a nationally syndicated two-time Emmy® Award-winning talk show, recently visited the firm's New Brunswick, NJ, office, surprising the ladies with a complete makeover of new hair do's, make-up and clothes. The show reached out to the CPA firm, seeking candidates for a special tax season segment, which aired on April 8th. The surprise was kept under wraps until the moment the "ambush makeovers" took place in the accountants' offices.

Ivan Brown, co-founder and partner of WithumSmith+Brown (WS+B), was honored as Corporate Citizen of the Year at NJBIZ’s annual Business of the Year awards program. The event was held on December 6 at The Palace in Somerset, NJ.
Paramus-based forensic accounting firm, Morrison & Company, P.A., has merged WithumSmith+Brown, P.C. Effective December 1, 2010, the union adds 14 professionals to the WS+B roster. The Morrison & Company staff currently based in the Paramus office will remain at that location, under the WS+B name.

In a private ceremony held at Cathedral High School, NYC, on July 14th, Archbishop Celestino Migliore, President of the Path to Peace Foundation, recognized Scott Mariani, JD, partner, Anthony Panico, CPA, partner, and Sharon Cross, CPA, senior manager, for their generosity in providing pro-bono work to the foundation. Also among the group being honored was Catherine Warbrick, formerly with WS+B but who is now employed with Far Hills Country Day School. Mariani, who lead the team’s effort, was bestowed the Papal Honor of the Knight of the Order of Saint Gregory the Great. Panico, Cross and Warbrick were awarded the Benemerenti medal.
