New I-9 Form for Employment

New I-9 Form for Employment

As employers know, the Form I-9 is used to verify the identity and employment authorization of all individuals hired for employment in the United States. The U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services claims that the form was revised to make it more user-friendly, to reduce errors and to enhance form completion using a computer.

Effective January 22, 2017, employers must use the new Form I-9, which is dated November 14, 2016. The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) prohibits employers from hiring people for employment in the United States without first verifying their identity and employment authorization using Form I-9.
